Spring is an unincorporated community in Harris and Montgomery counties, Texas, located about 25 miles north of downtown Houston along Interstate 45. Despite having no city government, Spring has grown into one of the Houston metro's most desirable areas, home to ExxonMobil's global headquarters and the charming Old Town Spring shopping district. The area is served by three major school districts and offers a mix of suburban neighborhoods and corporate campuses.

What Makes Spring Unique

History

Spring's history dates back to 1838 when settlers arrived in what was then the Republic of Texas. The community got its name from the natural springs in the area. The railroad arrived in 1871, transforming Spring into a busy railroad town. Old Town Spring, now a popular shopping destination, preserves this railroad heritage.
