Animal cruelty investigators found animals in distress during extreme heat. The rescue operation involved 19 animals, including dogs and reptiles. Several breeds of dogs were present, with some being more susceptible to heat due to physical characteristics.

Officials reported that the conditions were unsuitable for the animals, with contamination and inadequate care. Larger dogs, including those with puppies, were among those rescued. Two reptiles, including an alligator, were also found and rescued.

Further details about the rescue and the individuals involved are available from the Houston SPCA.
